Don't ask how Ryu turned out to be Takeru's protegee. They don't talk about it so no one really dares to ask. Takeru has a lot of money and he is happy to give it to people he likes/consider. Ryu had nothing and Takeru gave him a home, food and pays for his studies. They are not a pair, mind you, tho Ryu wouldn't mind some Takeru love, i reckon XD
